Greenwich and the districts of South London—Bankside, Southwark, and Dulwich—together reflect the city’s long relationship with the Thames and its growth beyond the old centre. Greenwich, shaped by maritime and royal history, contrasts with the former industrial and trading wharves of Bankside and Southwark, now revitalised as cultural and residential quarters. Further south, Dulwich retains the character of an early suburb, notable for its planned estate and historic college. These watercolours trace the diversity of South London’s built landscape, from riverfront warehouses to Georgian streets and hilltop views.
