City of London Livery Gallery
The Great Twelve livery companies of London represent one of the city’s oldest civic traditions. All with medieval origins to later rebuilding after the Great Fire and wartime damage, their halls reflect centuries of change in the City’s built environment. These watercolours capture the character of the companies’ houses and surroundings, where fine façades, ceremonial interiors, and carefully designed settings express the dignity and continuity of London’s guild heritage.
