Mercers’ Hall is the historic headquarters of the Worshipful Company of Mercers in the City of London, and it still functions as a livery hall and events venue today. The Mercers began as a medieval guild of merchants dealing in luxury textiles, and their present hall grew out of a long institutional history tied to the old Hospital of St Thomas of Acre site near Cheapside.
 
The Mercers’ Company is one of the great City livery companies, and its identity comes from the mercery trade: fine cloth, silks, and other luxury goods. The company’s hall has deep roots in the medieval City.
