The Ca' d'Oro on the Grand Canal is one of Venice's most beautiful Gothic palaces. Its name means "House of Gold", referring to the gilding that once decorated parts of its intricate stone façade.
 
Interesting facts…
The palace was built in the 15th century for the Contarini family and later passed through several important Venetian owners before becoming a public museum.
