Lincoln's Inn is the only Inn of Court that can trace its origins back to the 13th century. The chapel was designed by Inigo Jones and consecrated in 1623, making it the oldest building in the Inn. Many famous lawyers and judges have been members, including Oliver Cromwell, William Penn, and more recently, several Supreme Court justices. The Inn's library contains over 100,000 volumes, including rare legal manuscripts dating back to the 13th century.
