Hampton Court Palace is a historic royal palace in East Molesey, southwest London, best known for its Tudor origins under Cardinal Wolsey and Henry VIII, and for later Baroque additions by Christopher Wren for William III and Mary II.

It sits on the River Thames and is a Grade I listed royal palace.

Henry VIII brought all six of his wives there at some point. Indeed Anne Boleyn was arrested at Hampton Court in 1536.

Interesting facts...

Charles I was held there under house arrest after the Civil War, so the palace was both a royal home and a prison.
