Daunt Books on Marylebone High Street is often described as London's most beautiful bookshop. The original branch opened in 1912 in an Edwardian premises designed specifically for bookselling, with long oak galleries, stained-glass windows and a central skylight.
 
The long tables are arranged by country and region, encouraging discovery rather than just bestsellers. The interior has changed little over the decades and remains a calm, browsable space.
