Birmingham Town Hall is a monumental classical building in the city centre, with a giant Corinthian portico inspired by ancient temples. It was built in the 19th century as a venue for concerts, meetings and civic events.

The hall was one of the first purpose-built concert venues in Britain and hosted premieres by Mendelssohn and other major composers.
