The Torridon is a five-star, family-owned country house hotel and estate on the shore of Loch Torridon, regarded as one of the leading luxury hotels in the Scottish Highlands.
The hotel occupies a 58‑acre estate at the head of Loch Torridon, with views to the Torridon peaks.
The building began life as a shooting lodge completed in 1887 for William King-Noel, 1st Earl of Lovelace, who was married to Ada Lovelace, Byron’s daughter and a pioneer of early computing.
Interesting fact...
Every material for the house reportedly had to be brought in by boat, even the soil for the kitchen garden
