The Ned London is a luxury hotel and private members’ club located in the heart of the City of London, close to St Paul’s Cathedral. It occupies the former Midland Bank headquarters at 27 Poultry, an iconic Grade I listed building designed by Sir Edwin “Ned” Lutyens in 1924. The building was originally the headquarters of Midland Bank and is famed for its art deco design and historical features, such as the original bank vault.
Interesting facts...
Hidden behind a 20-tonne steel door, the original bank vault has been transformed into a private cocktail bar lined with 3,800 safety deposit boxes. This vault inspired the famous scene in the James Bond film Goldfinger. The Vault’s innermost room is decorated with 100 specially commissioned artworks, 93 of them by women, as a subtle commentary on gender imbalance in business leadership
