Vietnam celebrates 50 years of reunification.

Here is a watercolour of the Gate of Literature. The Gate known as Văn Miếu Môn, is the main entrance to the Temple of Literature (Văn Miếu) in Hanoi, Vietnam. This historic site, established in 1070, is dedicated to Confucius and served as Vietnam’s first national university. The main gate is flanked by two smaller gates: the Virtue Gate (Cổng Thành Đức) and the Talent Gate (Cổng Thành Công), representing moral integrity and academic achievement

There is an actually a secret tunnel beneath the Temple of Literature that connects it to the Imperial Citadel. This tunnel was historically used as an escape route and for confidential communication between the temple and the royal residence.
