St Alban’s Church, Wood Street, was a historic church in the City of London, notable for its Gothic-style tower designed by Sir Christopher Wren, which is the only part that survives today after the church was destroyed during World War II bombing.
Wren’s design for St Alban’s tower is rare for its Gothic style, contrasting with his more typically classical church works. You can go inside and it is ofetn used for filiming. Unfortunate as a congregation has been worshipping here for over 1000 years.
Interesting facts...
In the 1980s it was a private residence and many rumors circulated who could live inside it?
