South Causey Inn, a well‑known country hotel, pub, and restaurant in County Durham, between Durham and Newcastle, in the Beamish Valley.

Its actually only about 30 years old!

The site began as a 100‑acre farm, bought by the current owning family in 1976 and first developed as an equestrian centre rather than as an inn. The original farmhouse was later converted and opened as the South Causey Inn in 1990, so the building only looks like a long‑established coaching inn; in reality it is late 20th‑century fabric with a traditional aesthetic.

Interesting fact...

It has a 1960's London double decker bus in the garden, few know that this bus is twice as old as the pub.
