interesting facts...
its nickname “Queen Anne’s Footstool” has its origins in legend: architect Thomas Archer reportedly consulted Queen Anne about his church design, and she, uninterested, kicked over her footstool and exclaimed “Like that!”—inspiring the church’s four distinctive corner towers.
Charles Dickens was not a fan. He famously described it as “some petrified monster, frightful and gigantic, on its back with its legs in the air” in his novel Our Mutual Friend.
