Interesting facts..
The palace’s name comes from a scandalous love story. In the mid-1700s, Vettor Pisani (second son of the Moretta branch) fell in love with Teresa Vedova, daughter of a simple artisan. Since nobles couldn’t legally marry those of lower standing, Teresa was sent to a convent to prevent scandal. However, the lovers met in secret, and Teresa became pregnant, giving birth to Pietro Pisani. Vettor later abandoned her, choosing a substitute husband for the “hapless” Teresa who refuted him. Pietro became the last rightful heir to the Pisani estate, dying in 1847
