Linacre College, Oxford. It is a graduate college of the University of Oxford, founded in 1962 and named after Thomas Linacre.Thomas Linacre, was a Renaissance humanist and founder of the Royal College of Physicians.
The oldest building on site, dating from 1886, originally a private house, then a convent, and later a student residence before becoming part of Linacre. It is designed in Queen Anne style in striking red brick and terracotta.
Interesting facts...
The college houses a valued library collection including rare, fascinating historical books such as a 1649 edition of "Eikon Basilike,". This is a moving autobiography of King Charles I publicised just after his execution.
