Leeds Castle is a historic castle located in Kent, England, about 7 miles southeast of Maidstone. It is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len and dates back to 857 AD, originally established by a Saxon chief. The castle has served as a Norman stronghold, a royal residence for six medieval queens, and a palace used by Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.
Interesting facts...
As well as numerous ghosts you may even bump into the legendry Brian Hudson. Brian a superfan from Dartford, made history at Leeds Castle by staying overnight in every one of the castle’s 42 bedrooms, including those in the historic Castle itself, the adjacent Maiden’s Tower, and the Stable Courtyard Bed and Breakfast—a feat not even King Henry VIII accomplished during his ownership.
