Kynance Mews is a historic and picturesque mews street in South Kensington, London, renowned for its charming cobbled road, flowering vines, and Instagram appeal. Originally built as stables for the grand houses of Cornwall Gardens between 1862 and 1879, the street was known as Cornwall Mews until being renamed in 1924 in honor of Kynance Cove in Cornwall.
Today, Kynance Mews is especially famous for its seasonal displays: in spring, wisteria drapes the houses with purple blossoms; in autumn, Virginia creeper vines turn a vibrant red. It is considered one of the most “instagrammable” places in London
The Settlement was a “neutral ground” where people from all walks of life, from politicians and reformers to neighborhood residents, mingled as equals—a rarity for the era. Even a future British Prime Minister visited during his wedding trip, beginning a long association with the Settlement
