His Majesty’s Theatre is a historic  West End theatre located at 57 Haymarket, in central London, well-known today as the long-time home of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical The Phantom of the Opera, which has run there since 1986.

Designed by Charles J. Phipps, the current building opened in 1897. The interiors are opulent, with a wide proscenium ideal for musicals and spectacular productions.

Originally established as the Queen’s Theatre in 1705 by John Vanbrugh, this site has been home to four different theatre buildings over its long history.

Interesting facts....

The name changes with the gender of the British monarch; it is now His Majesty’s Theatre since the accession of King Charles III in 2023 (previously Her Majesty’s Theatre during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign)
