Chelsea Physic Garden, established in 1673 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London, is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Britain, located on a four-acre site by the River Thames in London. It was created to grow medicinal plants and teach apprentices about their uses, and today it houses over 4,500 to 5,000 different edible, medicinal, and useful plants, including the largest fruiting olive tree in Britain and Europe’s oldest rock garden devoted to alpine and Mediterranean plants.

The garden features high brick walls that create a warm microclimate, allowing rare and tender species to thrive outdoors. Visitors can explore various areas such as the rockery, glasshouses, herb garden, and botanical order beds. The garden also offers family activities, workshops, and seasonal events focused on plant education and medicinal uses
