Watercolour of Bow Bridge, central Park. A beautiful bridge with expansive views of the Lake, surrounding landscapes, and the city skyline. Its one of the most romantic places in NYC.
Bow Bridge is one of the most iconic and visually striking bridges in Central Park. Built between 1859 and 1862, it is a cast iron pedestrian bridge spanning 87 feet over the Lake, connecting the Ramble and Cherry Hill areas of the park. Its graceful, low-lying curve resembles an archer’s bow and is considered a masterpiece of Victorian-era design. The bridge features ornate ironwork with Gothic, Neo-Classical, and Renaissance details, and was constructed by the same foundry that built the U.S. Capitol dome.
