King Henry II built a secret retreat for his mistress, Rosamund Clifford, which could only be reached through a labyrinth. Today, only Rosamund’s Well remains as a reminder of this hidden love story.
Each year, Blenheim Palace must present a replica of the captured French standard to the monarch at Windsor Castle. If this tradition lapses, the palace could revert to the Crown!
