Beaverbrook is a luxury country house hotel and estate in the Surrey Hills near Leatherhead and the village of Mickleham, about 20 miles from central London

A restored late‑19th‑century mansion and 400‑acre estate that was once the home of press baron and politician Lord Beaverbrook, a close associate of Winston Churchill. Indeed Lord Beaverbrook (Max Aitken) used the house as a base for high‑society gatherings and political meetings; guests included Winston Churchill, Rudyard Kipling, Ian Fleming, and various film stars.

The main house is a Grade II‑listed neo‑classical/Victorian “wedding‑cake” mansion on elevated ground, with Italianate gardens and expansive views over the Surrey Hills. Nice.

interesting facts...

Lots of political intrigue and discussions were held here. During the Second World War, Beaverbrook used the house while serving as Minister of Aircraft Production, the role in which he drove the expansion of Spitfire and Hurricane output for the Battle of Britain; his Surrey base became closely associated with his reputation as Churchill’s tireless, maverick ally.
