Lyme Park is a large historic estate centred on Lyme Hall, a grand country house set in formal gardens and a 1,300-acre deer park on the edge of the Peak District near Disley, Cheshire. It is associated with the Legh family and was the setting for “Pemberley” in the 1995 BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
 
Lyme originated as a grant of land following the Battle of Crécy in 1346, when Sir Thomas Danyers was rewarded for recovering the Black Prince's standard. 
 
Interesting facts...
A Grade I listed country house set in 1,400 acres of deer park. The Legh family owned it for over 800 years before it passed to the National Trust.
