Jack Straws Castle
Jack Straw's Castle is a former pub named after Jack Straw, the rebel leader of the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, who took refuge here until he was captured. Overlooking Hampstead Heath, it was a popular stop for notable visitors, including Charles Dickens and Bram Stoker. Stoker mentions the pub in his novel Dracula as the place where Van Helsing and Jack Seward stop to dine.
