Watercolour of the Grand Staircase at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The staircase is a stunning architectural centerpiece, originally designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1873 as part of the Midland Grand Hotel. It spans three floors and features intricate ironwork, marble columns, ornate plasterwork, and vibrant red walls, all meticulously restored during the hotel’s renovation.

The staircase is illuminated by a large window, allowing natural light to enhance its grandeur. Its wide design was intended to accommodate Victorian ladies in large dresses. Famously featured in the Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” music video, the staircase is also a popular backdrop for photography and film shoots. Visitors can admire it from the lobby or join historic tours offered by the hotel
