The Victorian white stucco architecture of Paddington is characterised by elegant, grand terraces and villas with smooth white or cream facades, often with features such as sash windows, ornate cornicing, and classical detailing. Regency and early Victorian styles create a strong character againt mature trees. This stucco was originally used as a cheaper alternative to stone and was favored for its ability to give buildings a refined, classical appearance.

 

Interesting fact...

The name Paddington mixes 'Padda' and 'ton'. Ton was old enough to English for Town so it was Padda's Town. Padda was problably an Anglo-Saxon leader
