Alwyn Court is a historic, highly ornate apartment building at 180 West 58th Street, at the southeast corner of Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Built between 1907 and 1909 by architects Harde & Short in the French Renaissance style, it is renowned for its elaborate glazed terra-cotta facade, making it one of the most recognizable residential buildings in the city.

Despite looking like a classic Parisian chateau, the building originally struggled with tenancy; its extravagant design was almost too ahead of its time in early 20th-century New York.
During the Great Depression, the building—originally filled with massive luxury apartments—was struggling to rent units. Many of its grand 14-room residences were subdivided into smaller apartments, changing the social and architectural landscape inside.
