In 1871 Monsieur Bertaux, a Communard fleeing from Paris, opened this tiny patisserie and tea room in Greek Street. Customers include Virginia Wolf, Karl Marx, Alexander McQueen, Derek Jarman and the bohemians of Soho. It’s quite a landmark.
Interesting fact...
Maison Bertaux has an upstairs art gallery run by Tania Wade, which has hosted exhibitions by artists such as Noel Fielding, Harry Hill, and Timothy Spall ( he played Turner so i guess that makes it quite an impressive gallery)
